Halt the Wagons Video released
We have released the final music video from the new album, Halt the Wagons, a really moving song written about a local mining disaster that happened at the Huskar Pit.
Kate said,
“I wrote the song to commemorate the 180th anniversary of a pit disaster in the next village from us. 26 children aged from 7-17 lost their lives, 15 boys and 11 girls.
Their deaths led to Queen Victoria forcing parliament to pass a law that made it illegal for children under the age of 10 to work underground. Still too young, but it gave many children the time for an education and chance to be a child.
This features 26 amazing kids from Barnsley Youth Choir 15 boys and 11 girls aged 7-17. We are very proud of it.”
